Big Wood River Library District
Stronger Libraries = Stronger Communities
The Hailey and Bellevue Public Libraries were facing an uncertain future. To create a more sustainable path forward, community leaders proposed a ballot measure to establish a unified Big Wood River Library District.
As Senior Strategist and Copywriter, I helped shape an integrated advocacy campaign that made a complex ballot measure clear, accessible and compelling, distilling the implications of a yes or a no vote into straightforward language voters could easily understand.
The campaign message ”Say Yes to Libraries” was carried across every touchpoint, from the website and print materials to yard signs, transit placements and grassroots outreach.
The levy needed a simple majority to win. It won by a 20 point margin.
Role: Senior Strategist and Copywriter
Helped shape campaign strategy and messaging around one clear call to action: Say Yes to Libraries
Developed the campaign website information architecture and content flow
Wrote campaign copy and comprehensive FAQs, translating a complex ballot measure into clear, accessible information for voters
Collaborated with the studio to carry messaging consistently across digital, print, transit and grassroots campaign touchpoints
“As you may or may not have heard, we won the election yesterday by a twenty-point margin. Our success was in no small part a consequence of the messaging, materials, and strategies that you folks created for us!
I am very impressed with the work you do . . . many thanks!”
